How it plays
How does Micro Machines play?
The game uses a top-down, scrolling view centered on the leading racer. Players steer miniature vehicles around courses laid across tables, gardens, bathtubs, pool tables, and other improvised environments.
Races are won by reaching the finish first or by forcing opponents far enough off-screen to lose. Events include standard races and competitive elimination-style challenges, with different vehicles changing acceleration, grip, and handling. Progression comes from completing events and advancing through increasingly difficult courses.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Micro Machines?
Learn each course before attempting aggressive overtakes. Shortcuts and safe inside lines are valuable, but cutting too sharply can make a vehicle slide into scenery.
Stay near the center of the screen when possible. In elimination-style races, forcing an opponent off-screen is often safer than trying to pass on a narrow corner.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Brake before tight corners rather than steering sharply at full speed.
- 2
Use the edge of the track carefully; some scenery causes immediate failure.
- 3
In multiplayer, memorize hazards and shortcuts so you can recover quickly.
