How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective with horizontally scrolling stages. The objective is to defeat groups of Mad Gear enemies, collect food and weapons, and reach a boss at the end of each area.
Players can punch, jump, perform character-specific attacks, pick up dropped weapons, and use items for health or points. Experience gained from defeating enemies raises the selected fighter's level, improving attack power and adding moves. The NES version is a single-player game with distinct routes and boss encounters.
Plan your run
Learn enemy approach patterns and avoid standing between attackers. Short attacks followed by movement are safer than repeatedly committing to long exchanges.
Use food immediately when necessary, but save weapons for dense groups or difficult bosses. Choose the character whose strengths fit your style: Haggar has power, Guy has speed, and Cody offers a middle ground.
Build experience consistently rather than rushing past enemies. Against bosses, prioritize survival, attack during recovery windows, and keep enough space to react to projectiles or charges.

Mighty Final Fight is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993. It adapts the arcade game Final Fight into a compact, cartoon-styled adventure designed around the NES hardware. Players choose Cody, Guy, or Haggar and fight through Metro City to rescue Jessica from the Mad Gear gang. The game combines straightforward punching, jumping, weapon use, and character growth through experience levels. Its smaller scope and simplified presentation were generally well regarded for bringing the Final Fight formula to an 8-bit console, although it does not reproduce the full arcade campaign or simultaneous multiplayer.
