Final Fantasy VII
psRole-Playing
How it plays
Matches are viewed from a court-level perspective with a broadcast-style camera that follows the action. The objective is to outscore the opposing two-player team before time expires, using passes, shots, steals, blocks, turbo movement, and physical challenges.
Players select NBA teams and control one athlete at a time while the computer controls the teammate. Games emphasize quick possessions and momentum. Winning allows progression through the available competition structure, while successful offensive play can build a temporary advantage for powerful shots and dunks.
Plan your run
Use short passes to create open lanes instead of holding the ball in traffic. Save turbo for defensive recovery, fast breaks, and contested finishes rather than spending it continuously.
Stay between the ball handler and the basket, and switch attention quickly when the opponent passes. Two-on-two spacing is important: draw a defender away before attempting a high-risk shot or dunk.
Before you begin
Use turbo selectively so it remains available for fast breaks and defense.
Pass before the defense collapses around the ball handler.
Keep both defenders near the basket when the opponent is preparing a dunk.
NBA Jam Extreme is an arcade-style basketball game developed by Sculptured Software and published by Acclaim Entertainment for the PlayStation in 1996. It presents licensed NBA teams and players in fast two-on-two matches built around exaggerated jumps, physical contact, and spectacular shots rather than simulation accuracy. The game follows the series’ high-energy formula while adding a more aggressive presentation and PlayStation-focused 3D visuals. Players can compete in exhibition games or pursue a longer season-style progression, improving performance through repeated matches. Reception was mixed: the game retained the recognizable NBA Jam identity, but many critics and players found its controls, camera, and presentation less consistent than earlier entries.
