How it plays
How does A Nightmare on Elm Street play?
The game uses a side-view perspective. The player moves through linear stages, jumps across platforms, attacks enemies, and searches each area for objectives before reaching the end of the level.
Progression is based on clearing successive nightmare environments and surviving increasingly dangerous enemy patterns. Health and positioning are important because contact damage and environmental hazards can quickly end a life.
The game is designed for single-player play and does not provide a character-creation system or branching campaign.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play A Nightmare on Elm Street?
Learn enemy movement before attacking, and avoid rushing into unfamiliar screens. Keep a safe distance where possible, use jumping to control the timing of encounters, and look across each platform area before committing to a drop.
Conserve health by treating hazards as part of the route rather than relying only on combat. Repeated attempts are useful for memorizing enemy placements and the safest approach to later sections.
