How it plays
Each stage is presented as a fixed-screen platform arena filled with platforms, ladders, enemies, and breakable or interactive objects. The objective is to defeat the monsters on screen and advance, while avoiding contact and falls.
Jajamaru can run, jump, climb, and throw shuriken. Power-ups and stage objects can change the pace of a battle, while later stages demand tighter timing and more careful positioning. The game is a single-player progression with limited lives and no character-selection or save system.
Plan your run
Treat each screen as a pattern puzzle rather than rushing directly at enemies.

Ninja Jajamaru-kun is an arcade-style action platformer developed and published by Jaleco for Nintendo's 8-bit hardware. Players control the young ninja Jajamaru as he fights through compact stages to rescue Princess Sakura from invading monsters. Each screen combines jumping, climbing, projectile attacks, and enemy timing rather than exploration or inventory management. Its straightforward structure reflects early Japanese arcade design: learn enemy patterns, collect useful items, and clear one stage at a time. The game became a recognizable Jaleco release in Japan and established the Jajamaru character, although its simple controls and repetitive stage format received a more modest reception outside its original market.
