How it plays
Pac-Man explores three-dimensional platforming stages from a third-person perspective. The main objective is to reach the end of each stage, defeat enemies, collect Pac-Dots and fruit, and locate bonus items while avoiding hazards.
Stages are grouped into themed areas and include checkpoints, hidden paths, switches, and boss battles. Pac-Man can jump, perform a butt-bounce, roll, and use special power-ups. Completing stages and collecting items gradually opens later areas, while bonus mazes provide a separate take on classic Pac-Man play.
Plan your run
Learn the timing of Pac-Man's jump, butt-bounce, and roll before attempting later stages. Use the camera and stage layout to check platforms and hazards rather than moving quickly through every section.
Collect Pac-Dots, fruit, and letters when practical, but prioritize safe routes and checkpoints. Save stronger power-ups for enemy groups or boss encounters, and revisit stages when a missing collectible is easier to reach after learning the layout.

Pac-Man World is a 3D platform game developed and published by Namco for the original PlayStation. It reimagines Pac-Man as a platforming hero rather than presenting the traditional maze format. Pac-Man must rescue several friends and relatives who have been kidnapped by the pirate Toc-Man, traveling through themed areas filled with enemies, traps, collectibles, and boss encounters. The game combines jumping, rolling, butt-bouncing, pellet collection, and temporary power-ups in a straightforward level-based structure. Its colorful presentation and accessible controls earned it generally positive reception, especially from players who enjoyed Pac-Man's transition into a mascot-style adventure. The PlayStation version later became the foundation for the broader Pac-Man World subseries.
