How it plays
Pac-Man moves through an isometric maze and must clear every ordinary pellet while avoiding the ghosts. Power Pellets temporarily make the ghosts vulnerable, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for bonus points.
Stages introduce different maze layouts and increasingly demanding ghost behavior. Fruit appears as a bonus item, and Pac-Man can jump to evade danger or cross over a ghost. The game is primarily a single-player arcade challenge built around score, survival, and completing successive rounds.
Plan your run
Plan routes before entering crowded parts of the maze, and avoid trapping Pac-Man in dead ends.
Save Power Pellets for situations where several ghosts are nearby. Use the jump deliberately to escape an approaching ghost, then continue clearing pellets rather than circling aimlessly. Collect fruit when the route is safe, but prioritize survival and maze completion over a risky bonus.
Meet the cast
The yellow maze hero who eats pellets, collects fruit, and can jump over ghosts.
The red ghost who pursues Pac-Man.
The pink ghost who attempts to intercept Pac-Man.
The cyan ghost whose movements combine pursuit with less predictable positioning.
The orange ghost whose behavior alternates between chasing Pac-Man and wandering away.
Before you begin
Use the isometric view to check corners and crossings before committing to a route.
Do not spend every Power Pellet immediately; it is often more valuable as an escape option.
Jumping is a defensive tool, not a replacement for planning.
Pac-Mania is an arcade maze game developed and published by Namco. It reworks the familiar Pac-Man formula with an isometric, three-dimensional viewpoint and the ability to jump over ghosts. The player guides Pac-Man through enclosed mazes, eating pellets, collecting fruit, and using Power Pellets to turn the pursuing ghosts vulnerable. Its play style remains simple to learn but demands careful route planning and quick reactions as the stages become more difficult. The game was notable for presenting a fresh visual perspective on a long-running arcade design, while retaining the recognizable characters, rules, and chase-focused tension of the original Pac-Man.
