How it plays
How does Paperboy play?
Each stage presents a newspaper route viewed from an isometric perspective. Ride along the street, steer around hazards, and throw newspapers toward houses before reaching the end of the course.
Subscribers are marked by newspaper boxes or recognizable homes, while missed deliveries and damaged property reduce your performance. The route also contains traffic, dogs, pedestrians, ramps, and other obstacles. Successful deliveries and careful riding lead into further daily routes, while losing too many customers ends the run.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Paperboy?
Study the route before committing to a throw. Aim newspapers early, because the bike continues moving while the paper is released.
- Prioritize subscriber houses over risky bonus targets.
- Keep a safe line near the center of the road when traffic or obstacles appear.
- Use jumps and route edges cautiously; some hazards are positioned to punish last-second steering.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Learn the location of subscriber houses and anticipate each delivery.
- 2
Do not chase every bonus object if it puts the route at risk.
- 3
Small steering corrections are safer than sudden movements near obstacles.
