How it plays
How does Rad Racer play?
Each race is viewed from behind the car, with the road scrolling toward the player in a pseudo-3D effect. The objective is to complete each course before the countdown reaches zero while passing through checkpoint areas that add time.
The player steers around traffic, trees, signs, and other hazards. Acceleration and braking control speed, while the road layout and changing scenery demand quick reactions. Courses become more demanding as the game progresses, but there is no vehicle upgrade system, economy, or character progression.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Rad Racer?
Maintain a high speed on straight sections, but brake before sharp turns instead of trying to correct at the last moment. Use the full width of the road to pass traffic safely and avoid clipping roadside objects.
Watch the timer as closely as the road. Reaching checkpoints is essential, so a risky pass is worthwhile only when it does not cause a collision or major loss of speed.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Learn the position of upcoming turns and begin braking early.
- 2
Avoid roadside obstacles; collisions can cost valuable time and momentum.
- 3
Use the road width to line up passes rather than making abrupt steering movements.
