How it plays
How does R.B.I. Baseball play?
Games use an overhead view of the entire diamond. The batting team chooses a swing or bunt and tries to place the ball, while the pitcher selects a pitch and aims it around the strike zone.
Players control baserunners and fielders directly. The season mode tracks a team through multiple games, while exhibition mode provides a single match. Success depends on timing, pitch selection, base running, and throwing to the correct base.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play R.B.I. Baseball?
On offense, watch the pitcher and swing late on fastballs when possible; use bunts selectively against infield alignments. Avoid sending runners automatically when the defense has a clear play.
On defense, move the nearest fielder toward the ball first, then make the safest throw. Change pitch selection and location rather than repeatedly using one predictable option.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Use the overhead view to judge fly-ball landing spots before committing a fielder.
- 2
Keep runners conservative when a force play or double play is available.
