How it plays

How does Rival Schools: United by Fate play?

Fights take place in enclosed 3D arenas. The objective is to defeat the opposing team by draining its life gauge, using normal attacks, special moves, throws, blocks, and jumping attacks.

Players select one or two fighters depending on the mode. Team members can assist or participate in cooperative attacks, while arcade routes and story scenes vary according to character choices. Winning matches unlocks additional story content and supports repeated play with different school teams.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Rival Schools: United by Fate?

Learn the range and recovery of each fighter's basic attacks before relying on special moves. Use the 3D sidestep and jump to change approach angles, but avoid attacking carelessly after a blocked heavy move.

Choose a partner whose assist complements the main character. Save team attacks for moments when they can punish a missed move or close out a round, and practice the timing in training mode before attempting difficult arcade routes.
