Amuro Ray
A central protagonist from the original Mobile Suit Gundam, often used as a high-performance pilot for advanced units.
How it plays
Battles use a top-down, grid-based tactical perspective. The player moves allied mobile suits, selects attacks, manages terrain and range, and ends each unit's turn while opposing forces act in response.
Scenarios are organized around selected Gundam stories and feature objectives such as defeating enemy units or protecting designated forces. Units gain experience, while captured or developed mobile suits can expand the player's available roster and production options.
Plan your run
Build a balanced force instead of relying only on one powerful mobile suit. Keep damaged units away from isolated enemies, use terrain and attack range carefully, and focus fire to remove threats before they can retaliate.
Develop and capture units whenever possible. A broader roster gives you better answers to different mission layouts and helps preserve experienced pilots and machines for later scenarios.

SD Gundam G Generation is a turn-based tactical role-playing game developed and published by Bandai for the original PlayStation. It brings mobile suits, pilots, and stories from the Gundam universe together in a grid-based campaign rather than presenting one continuous original storyline. Players deploy compact SD-style units, complete scenario objectives, and expand their forces through production, capture, and development. The game is designed for Gundam fans who enjoy managing a roster as much as commanding battles. Its broad selection of eras and units helped establish the long-running G Generation format in Japan, although its Japanese-only release limited its accessibility in other regions.
