How it plays
How does Side Pocket play?
Play takes place from a top-down view of a pool table. The objective is to line up the cue ball, choose power, and sink the required object balls while preserving a useful position for the next shot.
Progression is organized around successive table challenges rather than a large adventure campaign. Players must account for angles, rebounds, ball order or table requirements, and the danger of scratching. Successful shots increase progress and score, while missed or illegal shots can make later positions much harder.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Side Pocket?
Study the complete table before shooting rather than targeting only the easiest ball. Use gentle power for position play and stronger shots only when distance or a rail requires it.
Plan the cue ball's stopping point as carefully as the pocket. Favor shots that leave a clear route to the next target, and avoid unnecessary rail contacts when a direct line is available.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Use low power when you need the cue ball to remain near the object ball.
- 2
Check rebound angles before attempting bank shots.
- 3
Prioritize position for the next shot instead of maximum power.
