A human swordsman and the principal hero, fighting to oppose Bilstein’s campaign.
How it plays
The game uses a third-person 3D fighting perspective. Players move around an arena, attack with their character’s weapon, evade attacks, guard, and use special techniques to defeat an opponent before the time limit expires.
Single-player play follows a fixed series of matches that leads toward the final confrontation, while versus mode allows two players to fight directly. Each character has different reach, speed, special moves, and projectile options, so spacing and learning attack patterns are central to progression.
Plan your run
Learn the range and recovery of each character’s weapon attacks before relying on special moves. Staying at a useful distance is especially important because long-reaching attacks can control the arena while unsafe attacks leave the user open.
Against computer opponents, block patiently, punish missed heavy attacks, and avoid repeatedly using the same projectile. In versus play, watch sidesteps and movement patterns, then use attacks that cover the opponent’s likely escape direction.

Star Gladiator: Episode 1: Final Crusade is a science-fiction 3D fighting game developed and published by Capcom for PlayStation. It is the home version of Capcom’s 1996 arcade fighter and centers on a group of warriors resisting the space tyrant Bilstein. Matches take place in enclosed arenas where combatants use energy weapons, physical attacks, special techniques, and projectile-based abilities. The game supports a single-player progression through a sequence of battles as well as versus play for two participants. Its polygonal presentation, weapon-focused combat, and dramatic space-opera setting helped distinguish it from Capcom’s more traditional 2D fighters. Reception was generally favorable for its visual style and accessible combat, although critics also noted its smaller character roster and less refined balance compared with leading fighting games of the period.
