How it plays
Battles are fought on a top-down grid where players move units, choose weapons, manage range and energy, and resolve combat in turn order. Each unit has distinct stats, terrain affinity, ammunition, and EN limits, while pilots can use spirit commands to enhance accuracy, evasion, damage, or survival. Progress is chapter-based, with story events, victory conditions, and reinforcement waves shaping how each map is cleared.
Plan your run
Upgrade a dependable core group rather than spreading resources across every unit. Check weapon range, energy, ammunition, terrain, and morale before committing to an attack.
Use support attacks and defensive positioning to concentrate damage on dangerous enemies. Save spirit commands for bosses or objective-critical turns, and review scenario victory and defeat conditions before moving weaker units forward.

Super Robot Wars F is a tactical role-playing game developed by Winkysoft and published by Banpresto for the original PlayStation. It brings together robots and pilots from several anime series in a large crossover campaign, with battles presented on grid-based maps and animated attack sequences. Players deploy a custom team, manage mecha upgrades, and make dialogue-driven story decisions between missions. The game is a revised PlayStation version of the Super Famicom title Super Robot Wars 4, expanded with additional scenarios and series material. It was well received in Japan for its substantial crossover roster, strategic battles, and faithful use of its source shows.
