How it plays

How does The Terminator play?

The game uses a side-view platforming perspective. Kyle Reese travels through hostile stages inspired by the film’s future-war and 1984 settings, moving across platforms, avoiding hazards, and fighting enemies with firearms.

The objective is to reach the end of each stage while surviving attacks and managing the available weapons. Progression is primarily stage-based; the game does not use a role-playing character-level system or a branching campaign.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play The Terminator?

Move cautiously rather than advancing continuously, because enemies and hazards can punish rushed jumps. Use safe positions to attack before crossing exposed areas.

Learn the layout of each stage through repetition, conserve ammunition when possible, and prioritize surviving difficult sections over defeating every enemy.
