How it plays

How does Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 play?

The game uses a third-person perspective behind the skater. In Career mode, each stage contains goals such as reaching target scores, collecting letters, finding hidden items, and completing location-specific tasks within a time limit.

Players build lines with ollies, grabs, flips, grinds, manuals, and special tricks. Linking tricks increases the score multiplier, while landing safely preserves the combo. Completing goals earns cash and unlocks later stages, stat upgrades, boards, and other career rewards. Single Session, Free Skate, and multiplayer options provide shorter or competitive ways to play.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2?

Plan a route before starting a run, especially for letter and hidden-item goals. Build speed with manuals between obstacles and use ramps or banks to connect separate trick sections.

Upgrade ollie, air, hangtime, and speed early. For high scores, use a repeatable line, add a manual after landing, and vary tricks to avoid repeating the same move. Land before the timer expires rather than risking an unfinished combo.
