How it plays
The game is viewed from a third-person perspective behind the selected vehicle. In each arena, the objective is to eliminate opposing vehicles using machine guns, pickups, environmental attacks, and a unique special weapon.
The World Tour campaign progresses through themed stages in different locations, with boss encounters and story sequences between battles. Single-player and split-screen multiplayer modes support different match structures, while armor, ammunition, and turbo management are central to survival.
Players steer, accelerate, reverse, fire weapons, collect power-ups, and use hazards or shortcuts in the arena. Winning battles advances the campaign and reveals more of the selected competitor’s ending story.
Plan your run
Conserve special weapons for moments when an opponent is exposed or cornered. Use the arena’s walls, ramps, and hazards to create distance, and keep moving rather than trading fire in the open.
Learn each vehicle’s armor, speed, turning, and special-weapon behavior. Collect turbo and ammunition whenever safe, and use homing or indirect weapons to attack enemies while repositioning.
In multiplayer, focus fire on weakened opponents but avoid becoming an easy target. Boss vehicles have large durability advantages, so prioritize defensive movement and reliable weapon pickups.

Twisted Metal 2: World Tour is a vehicular-combat action game developed by SingleTrac and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the original PlayStation. Players drive heavily armed vehicles through arenas around the world, destroying rival contestants while pursuing Calypso’s mysterious tournament and its wish-granting prize. The game combines third-person driving, projectile combat, environmental hazards, and character-specific special weapons. It supports a substantial single-player campaign as well as competitive multiplayer. Compared with its predecessor, it expanded the roster, arenas, weapons, and international setting. Contemporary and later players generally regard it as one of the strongest entries in the classic Twisted Metal series, particularly for its chaotic combat and memorable vehicle designs.
