How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective across forty stages grouped into themed areas of Kitchen Island. Wario runs, jumps, swims, climbs, attacks enemies, carries objects, and uses power-up helmets to gain abilities such as flight or fire attacks.
Most stages contain a goal door, collectible coins, and a hidden treasure. Players can revisit areas, search alternate paths, and spend coins in bonus activities. The ending and final reward vary according to the player's accumulated wealth and collected treasures.
Plan your run
Explore each stage instead of rushing to the exit. Check suspicious walls, ceilings, and dead ends for alternate routes, coins, and treasures.
Use Wario's transformations deliberately: Bull Wario breaks blocks and charges powerfully, Jet Wario flies briefly, and Dragon Wario attacks with fire. Preserve useful forms until their abilities are needed.
Collect coins consistently and revisit stages when a transformation or route was previously inaccessible. Hidden treasures and total wealth affect the final outcome.

Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 is a side-scrolling platform game developed by Nintendo R&D1 and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy. Wario sets out to raid the pirate stronghold of Kitchen Island and recover a valuable princess statue, hoping to acquire a castle of his own. The game combines traditional jumping with Wario's shoulder charge, object-grabbing, and transformation powers. Its stages emphasize exploration, branching routes, hidden treasures, and coin collection rather than simply reaching the goal. Released in 1994, it was well received for its larger, more exploratory design and for establishing Wario as the lead of his own series.
