How it plays
How does Win, Lose or Draw play?
Players take turns drawing a selected clue on an onscreen board while one or more teammates attempt to guess it. The goal is to communicate the clue without directly writing the answer, then earn points by solving it before the round timer ends.
The game is structured around repeated clue rounds and score comparisons rather than a character-driven campaign. Progress comes from successful guesses and completing the available turns; its main modes are intended for local pass-the-controller or group play on one NES screen.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Win, Lose or Draw?
Use large, simple shapes first: a stick figure, an arrow, a box, or a distinctive outline gives teammates more information than detailed shading. Establish the broad category quickly, then add only the feature that separates the target clue from similar answers.
Because drawing with the NES controller is slow, plan the clue before moving the cursor. If the prompt suggests an action, draw the actor and the action separately; if it suggests an object, emphasize its silhouette and one recognizable detail.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Agree on a drawing vocabulary before starting, especially for common actions and objects.
- 2
Prioritize speed and recognizable outlines over artistic detail.
- 3
Use local multiplayer or pass-the-controller play for the intended party format.
