How it plays
Choose an X-Men character and fight through story, training, battle, survival, or link-cable versus modes. The GBC version uses a compact two-dimensional presentation and a simplified fighter control scheme, while preserving the tournament-style progression and character matchups of the license.
Plan your run
Use training mode to learn each character's attack range before starting the story route, keep opponents at the distance that suits the selected fighter, and use a save state before a difficult consecutive-fight sequence. Treat the Japanese menus as a separate regional presentation even though the core fighting system is shared.
X-Men: Mutant Academy is the Japanese Game Boy Color version of the superhero fighting game developed for the handheld by Crawfish Interactive and published by Activision. It is a distinct 2D portable adaptation rather than a direct rendering of the PlayStation version.
