How it plays

How does Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II play?

Most exploration uses an overhead view. Mike moves through towns, wilderness areas, dungeons, and buildings, talks to characters, examines objects, collects items, and fights enemies with close-range weapons and special equipment.

The adventure is divided into chapters and locations. Progress depends on finding key items, learning clues, solving environmental puzzles, and defeating bosses. Some scenes change to side-scrolling action, giving the game a varied level structure rather than a single repeated perspective.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II?

Search each area thoroughly before moving on, and speak to residents more than once when the story changes. Many progress items are obtained from seemingly ordinary rooms or from solving clues rather than from direct combat.

Conserve healing and special items for dungeons and bosses. Learn enemy attack patterns, keep space around Mike during fights, and revisit earlier locations when a newly acquired item may reveal a route or secret.
