How it plays

How does 3D Tetris play?

The main game is viewed from the front of a three-dimensional playing well. Pieces descend into the space, and the player moves or rotates them so that completed layers or lines are formed and cleared.

Modes include 3-D Tetris, a conventional 2-D Tetris-style mode, and Puzzle mode. Progression is based on clearing formations and surviving the increasing demands of the selected mode rather than on a story or character system.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play 3D Tetris?

Plan the piece's final position before it reaches the lower part of the well. Check depth as well as the visible front face, because a placement that looks correct from one angle can leave gaps behind it.

Keep the stack as level as possible, avoid isolated holes, and use the simpler 2-D mode to become familiar with the game's piece handling before attempting more complex three-dimensional placements.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Inspect the depth of the well before committing to a placement.

  2. 2

Avoid creating enclosed gaps that cannot be filled by later pieces.

  3. 3

Use Puzzle mode to practice spatial planning.
