Rash
A Battletoad and one of the two playable heroes.
How it plays
The game uses a side-scrolling perspective. Players move through six varied stages, defeating enemies with punches, kicks, throws, and exaggerated finishing attacks while avoiding environmental hazards.
Stages include traditional combat areas as well as a jet section, a high-speed tunnel descent, and platforming sequences. Players have limited lives and continues, and progress depends on learning enemy patterns, hazards, and stage-specific movement.
Plan your run
Learn each stage as a sequence of patterns rather than rushing through it. In combat, use the environment and enemy drops when available, and prioritize enemies that can interrupt movement or create projectiles.
The obstacle sections require controlled movement more than attacking. Memorize safe lanes and jump timings, conserve lives for later stages, and use two-player coordination to divide enemies and cover recoveries.

Battletoads in Battlemaniacs is a 1993 side-scrolling beat 'em up and action platformer developed by Rare and published by Tradewest for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Players control Rash or Zitz as they enter a virtual world created by the villainous Silas Volkmire and battle the Dark Queen's forces. The game combines close-quarters combat with sharply contrasting obstacle courses, vehicle sequences, and platforming challenges. It supports one or two players and is generally regarded as a technically impressive but very difficult entry in the Battletoads series. Its detailed animation, varied stages, and aggressive difficulty earned it a strong reputation among SNES action-game fans.
