How it plays
The game uses a third-person 3D perspective. Bomberman travels through themed stages, defeats enemies, collects power-ups, and reaches the goal while managing bomb placement and environmental hazards.
Stages are divided into areas with different layouts and challenges. Bombs can destroy enemies and certain objects, while movement, jumping, switches, and special items open routes or reveal collectibles. Progress is primarily stage-based, with new areas becoming available as the adventure advances.
Plan your run
Place bombs with an escape route already planned; narrow passages and walls can make blast timing dangerous.
Explore beyond the direct path to find power-ups and useful items, but avoid triggering multiple bombs before you know where the blast waves will travel.
Use jumps carefully around moving platforms and hazards. Learning enemy movement patterns is generally safer than attacking immediately.

Bomberman Hero is a 3D action-platform game developed by A.I. Co., Ltd. and published by Hudson Soft for the Nintendo 64. It places Bomberman in a more conventional platforming adventure than the series’ classic overhead arena games. The core premise is a rescue mission involving Princess Millian and the forces of the Garaden Empire. Players explore stages, defeat enemies with bombs, collect items, and navigate hazards with jumping and movement abilities. The game was noted for its colorful presentation, broad levels, and soundtrack, while its controls and camera received more mixed reactions. It remains a distinctive Nintendo 64-era Bomberman spinoff.
