Kendo Coyote
A martial-arts-focused coyote and one of the series’ principal fighters.
How it plays
Players choose an anthropomorphic fighter and battle through a sequence of one-on-one matches. The objective is to deplete the opponent’s life bar before time expires, while avoiding attacks, blocking, and using normal and special techniques.
The tournament structure provides the main progression, with successive opponents becoming more demanding. Versus play allows two players to fight directly. Each character has different reach, speed, and move properties, so learning spacing and the timing of special attacks is central to success.
Plan your run
Learn the normal attacks and special moves of one fighter before attempting to master the whole roster. Keep a useful distance, punish missed attacks, and avoid spending the entire match attacking without regard for defense.
In tournament play, observe each opponent’s preferred range and attack rhythm. Blocking and repositioning are often safer than trading hits, especially against larger fighters or opponents with strong close-range attacks.

Brutal Unleashed: Above the Claw is a one-on-one fighting game developed by Eurocom and published by GameTek for the Sega 32X. It follows the animal martial artists of Brutal: Paws of Fury into another tournament, where each fighter uses distinctive attacks, special moves, and a recognizable combat style. Matches are presented from a side view and combine conventional strikes with acrobatic movement and character-specific techniques. The game was released during the 32X’s short commercial life and received mixed historical attention, with critics noting its colorful presentation and expanded roster while finding the fighting system less consistent than the genre’s strongest contemporaries.
