How it plays
Cadash uses a side-view perspective and divides its adventure into connected stages. The main objective is to advance through each area, defeat enemies, find useful items, and ultimately confront the forces behind the kidnapping.
Players attack, jump, collect gold, buy equipment or supplies, and gain experience from combat. The available hero determines fighting style, durability, and access to magic. Towns and shops provide recovery and upgrades, while bosses mark major progression points. The PC Engine version supports a solo adventure with selectable character types.

Before you begin
Use each character according to their strengths instead of treating every class as a melee fighter.
Keep enough gold available for healing and equipment before entering a new section.
Boss encounters become safer when attacks are made during clear openings rather than continuously.
Cadash is a side-scrolling action RPG developed and published by Taito for the PC Engine. The game follows a warrior who must rescue Princess Salassa after the demon Balrog kidnaps her and threatens the kingdom. Exploration, platforming, close-range combat, magic, and character growth are combined in a compact arcade-style adventure. Players choose from distinct heroes with different strengths and abilities, then travel through dangerous stages filled with monsters, traps, shops, and bosses. Cadash was well regarded for bringing its arcade action and role-playing structure to home consoles, although the PC Engine version differs from the arcade release in content and presentation.
