How it plays
Players guide Diddy or Dixie through side-scrolling stages, defeating enemies, collecting bananas, finding KONG letters, and reaching the goal barrel. Dixie can use her ponytail to attack and hover, while Diddy is faster and more agile on the ground.
Worlds contain mine rides, underwater sections, vertical climbs, animal transformations, and bonus rooms. Coins, extra lives, DK Coins, and hidden exits encourage exploration. Completing bonus challenges and collecting special items raises the completion percentage.
Plan your run
Explore every stage rather than rushing to the exit. Look for walls that can be opened with barrels, unusual terrain, hidden hooks, and routes that lead to bonus rooms or alternate exits.
Use Dixie for difficult jumps and Diddy for quick movement. Preserve animal companions when possible, learn the timing of mine-cart and roller-coaster sections, and collect DK Coins and bonus items if you are pursuing a high completion percentage.
