How it plays
The game uses a side-on perspective across connected areas of the Northern Kremisphere. Players guide Dixie and Kiddy through levels, defeat enemies, collect bananas and coins, find bonus rooms, and reach the goal. Dixie can hover by spinning her ponytail, while Kiddy can roll farther and bounce across water.
The overworld includes rivers, lakes, shops, and optional paths. Players can switch between the two Kongs, use Animal Friends, operate vehicles, and collect Bonus Coins and DK Coins. Progress opens new regions and supports multiple completion goals.
Plan your run
Explore every branch before leaving a level. Dixie is usually safer for long jumps, while Kiddy is useful for heavy enemies, steep rolls, and water-based obstacles.
Search walls, ceilings, and unusual terrain for hidden entrances. Save at Kong Kollege when possible, and track Bonus Coins and DK Coins because they contribute to completion and unlock the game's best ending.

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! is a side-scrolling platform game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Dixie Kong searches the Northern Kremisphere after Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong disappear, teaming up with the strong but inexperienced Kiddy Kong. The adventure combines traditional platforming with exploration, collectible hunting, vehicle travel, and hidden bonus challenges. Its colorful pre-rendered visuals, varied world map, inventive partner abilities, and large selection of secrets were widely praised. Some players found its tone and soundtrack different from the earlier games, but it remains a substantial and technically impressive late-generation SNES release.
