How it plays
Players guide Jim through third-person 3D environments built around four dream-themed regions. Objectives include collecting Golden Udders, finding marbles, defeating enemies, completing challenges, and reaching stage exits.
Jim can run, jump, attack, use weapons, explore branching paths, and search for hidden collectibles. Progress opens additional areas and missions, while boss encounters and special challenges test movement and combat skills.
Plan your run
Explore each area thoroughly before leaving. Collectibles are often placed away from the main route, above platforms, or behind optional paths.
Learn the camera and use safe positions before attacking. Save difficult challenges for after collecting useful power-ups, and return to earlier areas when new abilities make previously unreachable locations accessible.

Earthworm Jim 3D is a 3D action-platform game developed by VIS Entertainment and published by Interplay Entertainment for Nintendo 64. Jim is trapped in a coma and must travel through strange dream worlds to recover his lost confidence and awaken. The game combines exploration, platforming, ranged attacks, whip combat, and collectible hunting across surreal stages. It follows the earlier Earthworm Jim games but changes their side-scrolling format into a third-person adventure. Reception was mixed: reviewers praised its visual style and humor, while criticizing its camera, controls, and uneven level design.
