How it plays
Final Fight 2 is viewed from a side-on perspective. Players advance through linear stages, defeat groups of enemies, collect food and weapons, and defeat a boss at the end of each area.
The game supports one-player and two-player cooperative modes. Haggar favors power, Maki favors speed and technical attacks, and Carlos offers a balanced fighting style. Players can walk, jump, strike, grab opponents, throw them, and use a special attack that trades a small amount of health for emergency crowd control.
Progression is stage-based rather than experience-based. Clearing a stage unlocks the next location, while score, remaining lives, and health determine the practical resources available during the run.
Plan your run
Control space instead of rushing into the center of every group. Walk toward enemies, use normal attacks to interrupt them, and avoid being surrounded from both sides.

Do not jump repeatedly near groups, because enemies can punish predictable landings.
Final Fight 2 is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed and published by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It follows Mayor Mike Haggar as he joins new allies Maki Genryusai and Carlos Miyamoto to rescue Guy and confront the revived Mad Gear Gang. The game emphasizes close-range combat, crowd control, weapon use, and steady movement through urban and international stages. Unlike the original SNES Final Fight, it supports two-player cooperative play. Reception was generally positive for its action and co-op feature, although critics often noted that it was a console-focused sequel rather than a major arcade-style advancement. Its structure uses a sequence of scrolling stages filled with regular enemies and boss encounters. Each playable fighter has different reach, speed, and attack characteristics, giving repeat play some variety.
