Gunman
The young protagonist and playable gunslinger who protects his town from the invasion.
How it plays
The game uses a top-down perspective. The player explores a connected frontier world, investigates supernatural incidents, enters dungeons, and defeats bosses to restore order. Towns and outdoor areas provide clues, shops, equipment, and routes to new locations.
Combat mixes close-range attacks with a gun and other acquired abilities. Dungeons contain enemies, locked routes, switches, puzzles, treasure, and a boss encounter. Progress depends on finding tools and upgrades that open previously inaccessible paths, while the world map gradually becomes easier to traverse.
Plan your run
Search each town and outdoor area thoroughly before entering a dungeon. Talk to residents repeatedly after major events, because clues and routes can become available as the story advances.
In dungeons, map locked doors and suspicious obstacles before spending limited resources. Upgrade equipment when possible, learn boss attack patterns, and use the safest available distance when close combat is risky.

Ganpuru: Gunman's Proof is a 1997 Super Famicom action-adventure game developed by Sting and published by Nintendo. It places a lone gunman in a surreal Wild West setting where a mysterious meteor and supernatural events have disturbed the frontier town of Strange. The game combines top-down exploration with sword fighting, firearms, dungeon puzzles, and Zelda-like item progression. Its compact world, unusual western atmosphere, and responsive combat have made it a notable late-generation Super Nintendo title. It was released only in Japan, so international players often encountered it through fan translations. Contemporary coverage was limited outside Japan, but the game has since earned a strong reputation among retro players for its distinctive setting and polished design.
