How it plays
Players view the world from Bond's first-person perspective and complete missions across locations inspired by the film. Objectives may include infiltrating facilities, collecting information, rescuing allies, destroying equipment, or escaping before extraction.
Weapons, gadgets, body armor, alarms, and enemy behavior all affect the approach to each mission. Story missions can be played on Agent, Secret Agent, and 00 Agent difficulties, with higher settings adding objectives and increasing enemy threat. A separate multiplayer mode supports customizable split-screen matches.
Plan your run
Study mission objectives before engaging enemies; several stages reward avoiding alarms and unnecessary fights.
Use accurate weapons for the situation, conserve ammunition, and search rooms for armor, key items, and objective devices. On higher difficulties, revisit completed stages to learn shorter routes and additional objectives.
In multiplayer, control important sightlines, listen for footsteps, and vary movement rather than repeatedly challenging opponents from the same position.

GoldenEye 007 is a first-person shooter developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. Based on the 1995 James Bond film, it places players in the role of Bond during a mission involving the GoldenEye satellite weapon and the Janus criminal network. The game combines shooting, stealth, exploration, and objective-based mission design. Its split-screen multiplayer became a defining feature, supporting competitive matches for up to four players.
