How it plays
Hyper Iria uses a side-scrolling perspective across discrete action stages. Iria runs, jumps, climbs, fires weapons, and uses close-range attacks while moving through industrial, urban, and alien environments.
Stages contain enemies, hazards, platforms, and boss encounters. Players choose missions and use collected or available equipment to handle different threats. Progress depends mainly on reaching the end of each stage and defeating its boss rather than on character-level statistics.
Plan your run
Learn enemy attack patterns before rushing forward, especially in narrow corridors and around moving hazards. Keep moving during firefights, use the terrain to avoid projectiles, and save stronger attacks for bosses.
Explore each stage carefully for useful items and practice difficult jumps. When a boss exposes a weak point, prioritize survival and consistent damage over aggressive close-range attacks.

Hyper Iria is a Japanese Super Nintendo action platformer developed by TamTam and published by Banpresto in 1995. It stars Iria, the bounty hunter from the Iria: Zeiram the Bounty Hunter anime, in a series of dangerous missions against criminals, machines, and alien threats. The game combines side-scrolling exploration with run-and-gun combat, acrobatic movement, and selectable equipment. Its colorful sprites and energetic presentation fit the system well, although its difficulty and occasionally awkward platforming make it more demanding than a straightforward licensed action game. It remains a notable title for fans of the Iria and Zeiram setting.
