How it plays

How does Kirby's Dream Course play?

Each stage is viewed from above. Kirby is launched with a chosen direction and power, then slides, bounces, and interacts with terrain until he stops. Defeating enemies generally reduces the number of shots needed to finish the hole, while the final target opens the goal.

Courses contain slopes, water, bumpers, switches, holes, and other hazards. Kirby may gain temporary abilities by defeating certain enemies. Solo play progresses through a sequence of courses and boss encounters; multiplayer lets two players compete on the same hole.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Kirby's Dream Course?

Plan the entire route before shooting. Aim to defeat enemies efficiently, but avoid spending extra shots on risky rebounds when a safer path is available.

Use slopes and walls to control Kirby's stopping position. Copy abilities can solve particular layouts, so consider whether an enemy should be defeated from a specific angle rather than approached directly.
