How it plays

How does Kirby's Dream Land 3 play?

Players guide Kirby through horizontally scrolling stages, defeating enemies, inhaling objects, copying abilities, and floating over hazards. Kirby can also team up with Gooey or one of several animal friends, changing how an ability behaves.

Each world contains standard stages, a mid-boss or boss encounter, and a goal. Completing the optional requirements in stages, such as helping characters or solving small puzzles, is necessary to obtain every Heart Star and unlock the true final sequence.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Kirby's Dream Land 3?

Experiment with animal friends instead of using every copy ability in its normal form. Their combinations can reach switches, defeat otherwise awkward enemies, or solve stage-specific puzzles.

Search every room for unusual blocks, doors, and environmental clues. Heart Stars are tied to optional tasks, and collecting them all is required for the best ending and final challenge.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Use inhaled enemies as projectiles when copying an ability would be unsafe.

  2. 2

Bring the animal friend that matches the stage's terrain; movement and attack properties can change substantially.

  3. 3

Replay stages after learning their Heart Star requirement instead of rushing directly to the goal.
