How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective. Knuckles or another selected lead character travels through stages while tethered to a partner; the elastic ring connection can be stretched, used to slingshot characters, and exploited to reach platforms or alter momentum.
Stages contain rings, obstacles, enemies, switches, and a goal. The player selects from available partners and advances through a rotating set of zones, with bonus and special-stage elements supporting progression. Knuckles can jump, glide, and climb, while partner abilities vary by character.
Plan your run
Use the tether deliberately rather than treating it as a simple restriction. Stretch it around platforms or obstacles, then release the positioning advantage to launch the lead character toward distant ledges.
Explore carefully for rings and alternate routes, and choose partners according to the terrain. Knuckles is especially useful where gliding or climbing is required, while a partner's movement ability can make certain sections safer or faster.

Before you begin
Keep the tether under control before jumping; sudden changes in distance can throw the characters into hazards.
Look for routes that use Knuckles' glide and climb abilities rather than following the most direct path.
Collect rings before difficult platforming sections so mistakes do not immediately end the attempt.
Knuckles' Chaotix is a 1995 action-platform game developed and published by Sega for the Sega 32X. It stars Knuckles the Echidna and introduces a team-based movement system in which the player is linked to a partner by a ring-powered elastic tether. The game combines side-scrolling platforming with unusual momentum and positioning mechanics. Players explore colorful stages, collect rings, and confront Dr. Robotnik's plans in a nonlinear progression structure. Its distinctive physics and polished presentation were recognized positively by some contemporary and later commentators, although the limited 32X audience kept it from receiving the same attention as Sega's main Sonic releases.
