Play takes place from a broadcast-style, top-down perspective. The objective is to outscore the opposing team by choosing plays, moving the ball through rushing or passing, defending each down, and converting kicks when appropriate.

Before a snap, select an offensive or defensive play. During the action, control the ball carrier or defender, attempt tackles and interceptions, and manage downs, clock position, and field position. Progress is based on completing drives and winning games rather than on character levels or persistent upgrades.

Use short passes and inside runs to build manageable down-and-distance situations instead of forcing deep throws. Watch the defensive alignment before the snap and change your call when the formation clearly exposes a mismatch.

On defense, protect the middle against runs and short routes, then use controlled movement to close passing lanes. Preserve timeouts late in a half and treat field position as important when deciding whether to punt, attempt a field goal, or go for a fourth down.
