How it plays

How does Mega Man & Bass play?

The game is viewed from the side. Choose Mega Man or Bass, select a stage, reach its boss, and claim a new weapon after victory.

Mega Man can charge shots and use a more conventional jump, while Bass fires rapidly and can dash horizontally. Both characters navigate platforms, defeat enemies, and collect bolts and CDs. Boss weapons exploit specific weaknesses, and the stage order can be chosen freely.

The game includes eight main Robot Master stages followed by fortress sequences. Auto assists with item purchases, and collected CDs unlock an in-game database of character information.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Mega Man & Bass?

Learn each boss weakness and use the stage order to obtain useful weapons early. Mega Man is generally easier to control in tight platforming sections, while Bass is effective against groups of enemies and across wide gaps.

Search stages for CDs and bolts, but avoid risky detours when health is low. Spend bolts through Auto on recovery items and useful upgrades before fortress stages.

Use Bass's dash carefully: it crosses gaps quickly but does not replace precise jumping. With Mega Man, charge shots before entering rooms containing durable enemies.
