How it plays
How does NBA Jam 2000 play?
Matches are viewed from an angled, side-oriented court perspective. Two players on each team share the floor, and the objective is to outscore the opponent before time expires.
Players move, pass, shoot, steal, block, rebound, and use turbo to accelerate or perform stronger actions. Games are structured around short periods, while longer modes add a season-like progression through scheduled opponents and team selection.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play NBA Jam 2000?
Use passing to create open shots rather than repeatedly forcing contested attempts. Save turbo for fast breaks, defensive recovery, and finishing plays near the basket.
Watch the opponent’s positioning before attempting a steal, and box out after missed shots so that rebounds do not immediately become second-chance points. In longer modes, choose a balanced team when possible instead of relying only on scoring ability.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Pass before shooting when defenders collapse on the ball handler.
- 2
Keep turbo available for fast breaks and late defensive recoveries.
- 3
Contest shots and pursue rebounds instead of conceding easy second chances.
