The game supports individual contests and broader season-oriented competition. Progress comes from winning games, managing downs and field position, and making effective play calls rather than from character-level upgrades.

Choose plays according to down and distance rather than repeating one formation. Short passes and conservative runs are useful when a first down is needed, while long passes are more effective when the defense is likely to commit to stopping the run.

On defense, watch the ball carrier and protect the middle of the field. Preserve timeouts and avoid risky fourth-down attempts unless the field position and score justify them.
