How it plays

How does Neutopia play?

Neutopia uses an overhead viewpoint. Jazeta travels through an overworld, enters towns and caves, and explores dungeons guarded by bosses.

The main objective is to find the eight medallions, improve equipment, and gather items that open new routes or solve environmental obstacles. The player attacks with a sword, uses acquired tools, searches for hidden passages, and returns to earlier areas when new abilities make them accessible.

Dungeons combine combat, locked doors, switches, treasure, and boss encounters. Progress is based on exploration and discoveries rather than experience levels.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Neutopia?

  • Search suspicious walls, corners, and dead ends; hidden passages and items are important to progression.
  • Upgrade the sword and shield as soon as their locations become available, then revisit difficult areas.
  • Enter each dungeon with a full supply of healing items and learn the attack patterns of its boss.
  • Record unexplored entrances and locked doors so that newly obtained items can be used efficiently.

When a route seems impossible, look for an item or weapon that changes how the environment can be traversed.
