How it plays

How does PGA Tour Golf play?

Players complete golf holes by selecting a club, aiming the shot, choosing power and timing, and accounting for terrain, wind, and hazards. The course is shown through scrolling overhead views that reveal fairways, greens, bunkers, water, and rough.

The objective is to finish each round in as few strokes as possible. Tournament-style play provides the main progression, while practice or alternate play options may be available depending on the selected setup. Success depends on reading distance and lie conditions, then repeating a reliable swing rhythm.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play PGA Tour Golf?

Choose a club for the actual distance rather than automatically using the longest option. A safer layup is often better than attempting a low-percentage shot over water or a bunker.

Study the wind before every approach, and favor the center of the green when the pin is near a hazard. On the putting surface, make small adjustments and prioritize pace; a missed putt that remains close is easier to recover from than an aggressive line past the hole.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Use conservative targets when hazards are close to the landing area.

  2. 2

Account for wind and uneven lies before setting shot power.

  3. 3

Leave uphill putts when possible because they are easier to control.
