How it plays

How does Re-Volt play?

Races are viewed from a third-person perspective, with optional camera views depending on the situation. Players steer radio-controlled cars around closed circuits, collect batteries and weapon pickups, and try to finish ahead of the field.

The game includes single-player racing and challenge-oriented events, along with multiplayer modes for Nintendo 64. Progression comes from completing events and unlocking additional cars and tracks. Cars differ in speed, acceleration, handling, and mass, so choosing a suitable vehicle and learning each track’s shortcuts are important.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Re-Volt?

Learn braking points before attempting shortcuts, because narrow routes often cost more time than they save. Save powerful weapons for crowded sections or the final lap rather than firing immediately.

Use lighter cars on technical circuits and heavier cars when collisions are frequent. In multiplayer, watch for weapon pickups and avoid leading through exposed areas unless you have a defensive item.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Memorize weapon locations and shortcut entrances.

  2. 2

Different cars require noticeably different braking and steering habits.

  3. 3

In multiplayer, drifting wide can expose you to attacks from behind.
