Synbios
A central young warrior and one of the main driving forces behind the story.
How it plays
The game uses a top-down, grid-based battlefield viewed from an angled perspective. The player moves allied units across each map, attacks enemies, casts spells, uses items, and ends turns while managing the order of engagements.
Battles are organized into a sequence of story scenarios. Units earn experience from combat and can become stronger as the campaign progresses, while different abilities and statistics encourage varied party composition. Story and town sections separate battles and provide opportunities to prepare for the next encounter.
Plan your run
Protect weaker units by keeping them behind tougher allies and avoid exposing isolated characters to several enemies at once.
Use terrain, attack range, healing, and turn order deliberately. Gain experience across the party instead of relying on only a few units, and inspect available equipment before difficult battles.

Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict is a fantasy tactical role-playing game developed by Climax Entertainment and published by Sega for the Game Gear. It presents a campaign of turn-based battles in which a small force confronts a growing supernatural threat. Exploration and story scenes connect encounters, while recruited allies gain experience and improve through combat. The game belongs to the Shining Force line and expands the handheld side of the series rather than serving as a simple action spin-off. Its compact presentation was shaped by the Game Gear, but the battles retain the series’ emphasis on positioning, class roles, and careful resource management. It is generally regarded as a notable Game Gear strategy RPG, especially for its links to the wider Shining Force continuity.
