How it plays
The player controls Julian's force from an isometric viewpoint during story exploration and tactical battles. Each battle has objectives such as defeating all enemies, protecting an ally, reaching a location, or surviving a set situation.
Characters act according to their movement and turn order. Units can attack, cast spells, use items, equip weapons, gain experience, and promote after meeting the required conditions. Towns provide shops, healing, conversations, and story progression. Scenario 3 also uses linked-story information and imported campaign data from the earlier scenarios.
Plan your run
Use terrain, attack range, and turn order to protect fragile spellcasters and healers. Let durable units block approaches while ranged attackers and magic users focus on dangerous targets.
Inspect equipment and class options regularly. Keep healing items available, search battlefields and towns carefully, and carry forward useful information or save data from the earlier scenarios when possible.

The sinister deity and central threat worshiped by the Bulzome religion.
Shining Force III Scenario 3: Bulzome Rising is a Japanese tactical role-playing game developed by Sonic! Software Planning and published by SEGA for the Sega Saturn. It concludes the three-scenario Shining Force III project, following the parallel campaigns of Synbios and Medion with Julian as the central viewpoint character. Battles use a turn-based, grid-based system in which characters move, attack, cast spells, and use items across maps. Between fights, players explore towns, manage equipment, recruit allies, and develop a persistent party. The scenario was praised for its ambitious linked narrative, strategic battles, and detailed presentation, but its Japanese-only release prevented the complete trilogy from receiving an official Western launch. It remains a notable late Saturn strategy RPG.
