How it plays

How does Sonic Labyrinth play?

The game uses an isometric viewpoint. Sonic rolls through compact maze stages, searches for keys, defeats or avoids enemies, and reaches the goal before time expires.

Four zones contain multiple stages with traps, moving platforms, switches, and Chaos Emerald objectives. Sonic progresses by clearing stages and collecting the required items rather than by building speed across long side-scrolling courses.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Sonic Labyrinth?

Learn each stage's layout before taking risks. Because Sonic cannot jump, approach hazards from the correct direction and use the Spin Dash to attack enemies or cross dangerous areas.

Collect keys efficiently, watch the timer, and avoid unnecessary backtracking. Rolling into walls can change Sonic's position quickly, so short controlled movements are safer than constant attacks.
