How it plays

How does Soukoban (Japan) play?

Push crates one at a time through grid-based rooms, reach the goal squares, and solve a sequence of increasingly constrained layouts. Because crates cannot be pulled, each move changes the remaining solution space.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Soukoban (Japan)?

Plan from the goal backwards, keep corners and narrow corridors clear until their boxes are ready, and avoid pushing a crate against a wall unless that wall is part of its target route. Restart as soon as a box becomes permanently trapped.
