How it plays

How does Star Fox play?

The player views the action from behind the Arwing and flies through guided 3D environments. The main objective is to survive each route, destroy enemy ships and structures, and reach a route-ending boss.

Players can fire lasers, launch bombs, boost, brake, roll, and adjust altitude and position. Branching paths create multiple level sequences with different difficulty, while friendly pilots can be rescued during missions. The campaign ends with an assault on Andross's forces.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Star Fox?

Watch the Arwing's shield and use the radar to anticipate enemies. Fire continuously at formations and bosses, but conserve bombs for dense groups or difficult targets.

Protect allied pilots when possible and explore alternate route entrances. Practice braking and barrel rolls, since positioning and defense are as important as raw firepower.
