How it plays

How does Star Wars Arcade play?

The game uses a first-person cockpit perspective. The craft advances through linear missions while enemies approach from ahead, behind, and above; the player steers the targeting view, fires lasers, and uses limited secondary weapons against tougher targets.

Missions are built around set-piece objectives such as destroying waves of Imperial craft and attacking major targets. A two-player mode allows cooperative play on compatible hardware, while successful completion leads through the available sequence of stages rather than a large branching campaign.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Star Wars Arcade?

Prioritize enemies that are already attacking rather than chasing distant targets. Keep the reticle moving across the screen, since threats can enter from several directions.

Save secondary weapons for large ships or dense formations. During major attack sequences, concentrate on the marked weak points and avoid wasting shots on targets that are leaving the play area.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Use lasers for ordinary fighters and reserve secondary weapons for large targets.

  2. 2

Watch the radar and screen edges for enemies approaching from outside the center of view.

  3. 3

The campaign is short, so replaying stages for higher accuracy and score is a major part of the experience.
